Re: Eyebrow trim in the Bay Area?

I think you’re both right. That said, my decks are gray and a pain to match with epoxy tint, so I’m going to fill the old holes and drill nice new ones next to them...

Eyebrow trim in the Bay Area?

I went out to my boat today for the first time in a few months. Life gets in the way of boat projects... Anyway, while washing off the ridiculous accumulation of ash before power washing, I started looking at the ‘eyebrow’ trim, the one that runs right above the ports. I don’t think it’s going to be...

Re: 28 CK Head Bolts and other head questions...

Answered my own question. The head is held down with bolts/nuts, and not lag screws. Not great access up under there, but enough to slip some channel locks on. Pulled off the head hoses today. Not sure about the waste line, but I’m 99% sure the supply line was original. It was some kind of black rub...

28 CK Head Bolts and other head questions...

I pulled the Wilcox head out of my '79 28 CK yesterday, as I'm retrofitting it with a Jabsco electric flush base. I never thought I'd go for an electric head, but the idea of pushbutton flush for friends and family and the built-in macerator convinced me. One of the bolts that goes through the head ...

Re: F28 (Mull) refrigeration

Hey Carliane-I’ll take the Adler since Rich doesn’t want it. I’ll even pick it up in person! Still want to get beers at Quinn’s and hear SHTP stories. Jeff

Re: F28 (Mull) refrigeration

Compressor on my 28 is on the starboard side in the forward, upper part of the cockpit locker. You have to get your head inside and look up to see it. Not sure if that’s the stock location or not.

Re: Mainsheet attachment for 28 CK?

Interesting thought. When I read this, I thought of a Laser traveler.

I just filled 35 holes in my deck with epoxy this afternoon, so I’m going to think long and hard about new hardware!

Re: How do I get the wishbooms off?

Good information from both of you. Thank you! I didn't see a joint, but I may have been distracted by the thousands of spiders revolting against my removal of the sails... Side note: I left the folded and rolled sails in the car overnight when I got home from the marina-bad idea. Every morning have ...

How do I get the wishbooms off?

Am I missing something? There doesn’t seem to be a bolted, or even riveted section I can remove to take off my booms. Are you really supposed to take them over the top of the masts? I want to get some welding done on mine and look into anodizing or powder coating.

Thanks! Jeff
