Jib for F40/40

Hey folks I am looking for a camber spar jib for a Freedom 40/40 that is in decent shape. I have the spar. But need a sail. I would like something I could get a few seasons out of before having to replace. So if you converted to roller furling and have one gathering dust in the garage send me a note...

Re: Freedom 40/40 roller furling jib forestay tension

I am going to kick this up again! I have had Circe, a 40/40 for two years now. The headstay seems to be getting longer! She has roller furling and I think the bolt is unscrewing under the drum of the roller furler. But before I attempt to fix it I was hoping someone might have input on how tight it ...

Re: PHRF Adjustments for Freedoms

Here in SF Bay where I am the only F40/40 they gave me a base rating of 91 and a penalty for a spin pole longer than J (which is stock for the F40/40). Which brought me to 81. Brutal. I plan on challenging it but haven’t done so yet. I think the base rating is tough. And the penalty on the spinnaker...

Re: Restoring modified Freedom 45 CC to self-tending jib?

Hey Chris,
I would definitely be interested in the sail. I have already obtained a spar. If you want to discuss feel free to DM me and we can talk.

Thx.

Re: Restoring modified Freedom 45 CC to self-tending jib?

Thanks for the reply Jim. Great info. Yes the roller fueled jib, once you are off the wind a ways, just doesn’t do much. It is hard to give it any kind of shape. If I am reaching for a ways, I will sheet it over to the rail which helps. But at a certain wind angle it pretty much becomes useless with...

Re: Restoring modified Freedom 45 CC to self-tending jib?

Just FYI, I have started down this path of replacing the roller furling with a camber spar set up on my Freedom 40/40. I bought a used camperspar from someone who decided to go from camberspar to roller furling. They both have their advantages and disadvantageous. But just FYI, Paul Dennis at Warren...

Re: Manual bilge pump

Hi Bad, that was our thinking on next step. Try to seal the pick up end and pressurize it. Maybe even pressurize it with colored smoke (we have a friend who works on HVAC systems and this is what they do). But the hose seems to run such a "buried" route I am not sure we would find it, but worth a tr...

Re: Manual bilge pump

Still troubleshooting Manual Bilge Pump on my F 40/40. Finally found the pickup in the rearmost section of the deep bilge, which on my "Anniversary Model" means pulling up the floor and removing the center 4D battery to access. And really the rearmost 4D as well since who wants to lay across a batte...
