Re: Tohatsu SailPro 6hp Outboard?

I bought a Honda BF6 for my F21, partly because of the good discount I got on that model. Very happy with it and It will push my boat up to Hull speed through chop without any problems. It's also about 60lbs. I didn't want to hook up batteries to it, more than happy with my solar input, so I got the...

Re: 28 CK mast cap questions

Hi Jeff, I do not own an F28 and on my F21 the mast cap is not structural. However, I have been up and/or had down similar masts to yours. The cap piece will have a tube below the flat cap that fits down some way inside the mast top, this allows for any uneven stress from rigging or halliards front ...

Re: Start button - I swear I'll fix it this time

Bill, was the failed wire black along the whole length or white at the terminals? The latter is usually due to battery acid fumes. The black wire syndrome was very common in the radio control community and has been investigated at great length but nobody really seems to know why it occurs. However h...

Enjoyed reading of your travels. Keep it coming... I'm too constrained for such adventures so enjoy reading good accounts of other's passages.

Re: New port lights

Finished off the second side yesterday. Same problems as the first. It is difficult to get a seal across the whole of the width of the VHB tape. The lower bottom window edge seems to slope inwards on both sides. This time I had no irregularities in the tape but the result was the same. However there...

Re: Profile to F21 lifting rudder

Job done, I put the rudder back together today after a couple of coats of antifouling.

Re: Profile to F21 lifting rudder

Thanks Erik, I’ve learnt a lot in the process.

If anyone else would like to try this, I was sent a reject core along with the one I used. There isn’t much wrong with it for this kind of job. Would be happy to send it on for the cost of postage.

Re: Profile to F21 lifting rudder

Fill, sand, spray. Good enough I think, if it was gloss not antifouling going over this I'd fettle it a bit more. I'll flip it tomorrow and finish it.
