Re: Gun-Mount Spinnaker Rigging Tweaks

It is interesting to me that @iansan5633 and @newt2u have opposite experiences with improving reaching: loosening the tack vs bring it hard down to the pole, and vice versa for the clew. I wonder if this difference has to do with how high one is trying to point. I could easily imagine that one setu...

Re: Gun-Mount Spinnaker Rigging Tweaks

I agree that being able to adjust the pole without the hassle of fiddling with the clew lines is a big pro for your tweak but I also find it useful to be able to adjust them independently. I found recently that I get better upwind performance by loosening the forward clew (tack) while keeping the ot...

Re: Propane dilemma

Mike, a couple of points I assume you will be using Lifepo4 for storage. In which case what you see if what you get, !00Ahrs means pretty much 100Ahrs. I use solar, mppt and inverter to provide a backup to mains power in my home I have a 200AHr battery, which I think cost me around £650. During the ...

Re: Freedom Videos

We had a nice surprise on our last sail out of Whitehaven in the Irish Sea. I was trying to get video of how we use the spinnaker launching, etc. all from the cockpit to show a friend, when we had a visit from some dolphins. Luckily the camera was rolling although it is a wide angle one. Anyway, her...

Re: Freedom Videos

Thanks Tom, I enjoy watching other people videos, especially Freedom boats. You look to be enjoying being on the water.

Here is another of our day yesterday, also 1 reef in but a bit of a nasty swell (at lest for our little F21).

Re: Freedom 25 lifting keel

Yes I can see that now, quite different. Best of luck with your refurbishment. I had a similar experience, my F21 had been left on a trailer for almost 20 years in a yard. Luckily sails and spars were dry stored and survived just fine. In my case the trailer was toast! Hope you enjoy her when you ge...

Re: Freedom 25 lifting keel

I assume that is the same hull as the UK F25. Also the keel looks to be of similar proportions and ballast. How do you find it, does it sail well?

Re: Freedom 25 lifting keel

I managed to get some photos of the F25 (UK) lifting keel version and thought I would post them here for reference. The boat is for sale in the UK at a tad under £7K. I was interested but not really in a position to swap for my F21 currently.

Re: Freedom 25 lifting keel

Hi Jim,

thanks, I suspected that might be the case. Do you know anything about them?
