Re: Leaky Gudgeon Bolts

I find myselfe to have a similar problem. While underway in light sailing some water find its way from the transom area into the bilge. The only suspects are the lower gudgeon and its bolts or the bolts holding the sterntube. Are your gudgeon bolts in the bilge/transom are? Hard for me to get a good...

Re: Thru hulls without seacocks

Thru hulls below the waterline are fitted with a seacock. The ones ~1 feet above waterline are not, which is fine since my boat was spec'd for smaller lakes.

I usually shut every seacock except the raw water intake from the motor when leaving the boat unattended.

Re: And it begins

Cockpit cover. We average 30-50 feet (900-1500 cm) of snow each winter. Hi there, I don't know if this is allready your winter setup, but as you were measuring for new sails i wanted to pin out that the whishbone booms are not horrizontally rigged. Usually the aft of the booms sit way lower than di...

Re: F33 Cat-Ketch Mizzen Staysail

Correct. On my F30 UK the mizzen staysail is sheeted to a block on the boom, then to a block on the end of the toe rail and fixated at the winch on eather side.

Re: Windlass on an 1981 Freedom 33

My Freedom 30 cat ketch (UK) has a manual windlass installed i front of the main Mast.
The Freedom 33 should have fairly similar spaceing there.

I can take detailed pictuers this weekend if you want.

Re: FlexiTeek replacement swim platform

Thanks for your replies. Hot weather won't be too much of a problem, since the boat probably will never leave lake constance. And I plan to let a professional install it. There are a few around with a lot of experience. There are some other things on the "to buy" list first though. So let's see when...

Re: FlexiTeek replacement swim platform

Are you happy so far going with Flexiteek?

I am considering putting Flexiteek on my side decks, since the 40 years old non skid is starting to desintegrate.

Has anyone more feedback on using teak alternatives on their yachts?

Best regards

Re: Freedom 28 1963 cat ketch brochure

Hi there

You might want to try searching for Freedom 30 cat ketch documents as well. Since the US F28 is the F30 in the UK.

Here's a board manual posted:
