Engine Mounts vs Dripless seal

Hello all, Just purchased P35 "Deja Vu" and had a great sail from Ft Pierce to our homeport of Melbourne FL. As part of the survey deficiencies the previous owners replaced the Yanmar 3GM engine mountings which are connected to a PSS dripless seal. The seal does not leak up to 1100 engine rpm but ab...

Re: Water intrusion around ports

Thanks very much. If we do wind up buying the boat I will certainly take your advice. Hope your F32 is holding up well. I owned one for a number of years (hull # 40)sailing out of Newport and have many fond memories of the boat.

Water intrusion around ports

Hello all Just finished sea trial on 1995 F35(P) Deja Vu (hull#40). Two major problems encountered: 1. High moisture readings around most fixed ports, especially STBD side above the nav station. The ports themselves do not leak - assume the bedding is shot and water has gotten in. I'm curious to kno...

Josh,
Thanks very much. Survey is this coming Monday - we will check it out. How do you like your 38? That model was certainly one of my favorites.
Best regards,
Andy

Re: Just Joining

Bill, Bob, Thanks for the replies. It's nice to be getting back into the Freedom fold. Bill, Deja Vu is a Pedrick design. I actually sailed Hull #1 back in 1993 in Newport when she first came out. I opted to buy a bigger boat (Gulfstar 50). In retrospect if I had bought the Freedom it would probably...

Just Joining

Hi, My name is Andy Petruska and I am in the process of buying a 1995 Freedom 35 "Deja Vu." Previously owned a "32" sailing out of Newport RI then spent 4 years in the Caribbean on a Gulfstar 50. Survey on the 35 will be later this month. I'm aware that with balsa core we will have to take a close l...
