Re: Advice sought on Freedom 35 Cat Ketch as bluewater boat
It sounds like you are exactly where I was. I was after a Freedom 40 centre cockpit and eventually found one. My concern was water ingress into the balsa core - just seemed a very scary prospect and something that i imagined could easily happen on a 40+ year old boat. Having acquired a new to me boa...

History of F40 cc
As a new owner I am keen to learn the history of my boat. 1) Does anyone know the number of F40s built? And how many CCs of those? 2) What years were first and last ones built? I guess this splits into USA and UK boats as well 3) My particular boat is Nr 16. I know it was sold in 2016 or so to the l...

Found my F40!
Just a small announcement that this lurker is now a Freedom 40 owner. Centre cockpit named Beyond, formerly Mariposa. Re: F40 seeks new owner
I just wanted to share that I have viewed this boat and it really is fantastic. The amount of work and craft and thought that has gone into the fitout is really fantastic. Actually inspirational. The only reason I didn't go ahead is that I am holding out for a centre cockpit.

Re: Wishbones
Thanks for that! I did see them but couldn't recall where.
From my perspective it doesn't seem too out there. I am sure they would cost a lot more to have fabricated

Wishbones
Hi all,
Looking for F40 CC wishbones.
Anyone know of any that might be available? Or of a fabricator that could make some up. Boat's on the east coast.
Thanks for any help,
Dan

Re: Wishbones
Yeah, I looked at a aft cockpit 40 in the UK. The main arms were Douglas Fir as well. Heavy it seemed to me

Wishbones
What are the original wishbones made of, as in what wood? Laminated?
