Jim,
I am interested now in how the stay sail works.
I am new to sailing, so I did not have a stay sail on my boat. When the boom broke, I was missing having something I could use to get home with besides the 6 hp outboard.
Would be nice to have another option.
Best regards,
Matt

Re: F25 mast and sail configuration
Gang, I worked with Bill Hansen here in the SF Bay area to build a square top sail. Couldn't be happier with the sail. Can't really give a performance review, I am new to sailing, so I don't really know if it is better than others. It seems like it performs well enough, I just snapped the boom, so t...

Re: Broken boom
Ok,
The files were too big, take 2.
I'll also add a picture of my sail, from Bill Hansen on the sails thread. It is pretty cool.
Cheers,
Matt

Re: Broken boom
Gang, Here are some of the pictures. I had upgraded to a chop top sail, picture attached. This was the first trip with the new sail. I know of two other Freedoms with this sail, no problems, and the wind was not that strong, I think the boat was going between 5-6 knots. Thanks for the advice! Cheers...

Broken boom
Anyone snapped an F25 boom?
Mine did not survive opening day on the SF bay.
What's the best course of action? Is there a replacement maker out there?
I'll try to load picks soon.
Cheers

Free Sail F25 Main SF bay Area
All,
I replaced my main, and thought I would offer the old one up for free.
Not sure it has value to anyone, but I thought I would keep it for 2 weeks just in case someone out there needs a cheap sail.
Cheers,
Matt

Chop Top Sails for Round Mast F25
Hi Gang, I started working with Bill Hansen here in the SF Bay Area for a new sail. I liked the pictures of the Wing Mast F25 sail he worked on and asked him to create a Round Mast version. The attached has the sail plan for both the round and wing mast. The design uses the Sailman batten system. Ch...

Re: F25 boom support (e.g. "boomkicker")
Hi,
Have you had any luck with the boomkicker?
I was wondering about this today, curious to see how you made out.
Cheers,
Matt

Re: New Sails for F-25?
Hi All,
I had new sail slide sewn on (Bainbridge A107, not A108 as in a previous post). This helped a lot, thanks to Tricia for the suggestion.
Cheers,
Matt

Re: New Sails for F-25?
Gang, I probably should have said "connected" instead of "grounded", but I am wondering if the mast serves more like a conductor than a cathode, and the real battery is between the zincs (I don't even know where they are) and the aluminum. This would make the aluminum the cathode and the zinc the an...
