F40/40 recently sold
I have just closed on the sale of my 1995 Freedom 40/40. She was a great family cruiser for us for the past 14 years, and I wish the new owners a great future with her!

Another price reduction on F40/40
I purchased an '89 "downeaster" powerboat, and would like to find a good home for my much loved '95 F40/40 before winter, so I'm letting her go below market value. If you know anyone looking for a nice, well-maintained Freedom, refer them to: http://www.yachtworld.com/boats/1995/Freedom-Yachts-40-40...

Looking for additional crew to FL, October 2012
I am looking for additional crew to help sail my Freedom 40 to Lantana, Florida from her summer mooring in New Bedford. The trip will be primarily down the coast, 5-30 miles offshore. We will head out in mid-October, and the trip lasts 15-20 days. It is possible to crew for only part of the trip, if...

Re: To All Freedom 45 Owners On The East Coast
Rick,
Congratulations on your new boat, and welcome to the Freedom family! I have a 1995 F40/40, so that may not help on your "benchmarking", but I will be down that way in mid-January, probably within a mile or so of Cracker Boy's Marina.

Re: Roller furling headsails
I have sailed a 40/40 for five years with a 90% furling jib, and no backstay. I have used this rig extensively in coastwise and offshore sailing (New England to Caribbean and return) with no real problems. Significant mast flexing sometimes makes it a bit more challenging to furl, but I've never had...

Re: BOOM BRAKE
I have decided to sell my Dutchman boom brake, if anyone is interested. It is the BB750, which is the largest size, for use with a rigid vang. I like the design, but could never seem to get it rigged to my satisfaction on my F40/40. In order to get the optimum angle from the boom to the rails, and a...

F40/40 Engine throttle/shifter
Does anyone have a good source for the throttle/shifter for a 40/40? I think this may be the same control on the newer 35's, as well. My control has started to show signs of rebelliousness, and the handle has the usual cracking and wear. My neutral position has slipped back to around 11 o'clock, and...

Re: Freedom 40/40 Rigging List
Geoff, this rigging list should come in handy. I see that it's the original list for your boat, as delivered, right? Can you tell me anthing about the configuration, at the time? What was the mast height, and were the halyards led to the cockpit? I just ordered a spare main halyard sized at 152' (En...
