The ring around the mizzen mast is the original ring. It should be in one piece though. The main mast should have the same mast collar.

Re: Freedom 45CC core question
To the best of my knowledge, the entire hull is cored except along the center line and at the hull deck joint.
Happy sailing.

Hello F35 owner,
I am interested in your winter cover. I keep my boat in Portland at Yankee Boat Yard, now Birdon.

Re: New Mainsail Advice for Freedom 25 wing mast
Hello Robert, I totally agree with dropping the batten in the foot of the sail. IMHO I think 5 battens is the way to go. I would opt to have a bigger roach than your current sail, but I would shy away from a square top on the F25 wing mast. I saw a wing mast, with a square top mainsail, break in abo...

Re: Yanmar 3gm30f and Kazaki tranny
Hello Tom, The cost was one tube of abrasive compound. Looking back at my pics, I remembered it was both the fwd. and reveres gears that were glazed. I roughed up the gears and the cone with lapping compound, and reassembled the gear box. Here is a YouTube video describing this process. https://yout...

Re: Yanmar 3gm30f and Kazaki tranny
I think Bad is correct in saying these are two separate issues. When I had a delay in engagement in my Kanzaki transmission. it was due to a Glazed/Worn transmission cone drive. Replacing the cone drive fixed the problem. Transmission needs to be removed and opened up to perform this surgery. Having...

Re: Mizzen staysail on a cat ketch?
I recently started flying the mizzen staysail on my F38 CK. Two weeks ago, on a broad reach, I flew it wing on wing with the mainsail while the Mizzen was doused. With a preventer on the main boom, I can sail deep by the lee. Winds were around 15kts. Boat handled beautifully. On a beam reach I have ...

Re: Cutlass (Morse) Bearing Removal - F-33
My F33 has two stainless set screws pressing on the cutlass bearing. Poke around next to the cutlass to see if can find them. I think your socked idea may work. I used a plug with a shoulder made to fit the ID of the stern tube and the ID of the cutlass, and a threaded rod. Outside of the boat I had...

Re: Cutlass (Morse) Bearing Removal - F-33
S/V Arctic Tern’s cutlass bearing is located in the stern tube. There is no strut to damage. Look for and back off any set screws before trying to remove the cutlass.
