Fuel fill idea

I had this idea during my last passage, and I wanted to run it by the forum and see what you folks thought about it. It seems sound to me, but I could definitely be missing some fatal flaw, and I’d rather find that out before I start making cuts. The problem that I’m looking to solve is that on the ...

Re: F32: what are these “circular cutouts” on the deck?

On the later F38's they added side deck drains connected to hoses, which went to thru-hulls just forward of the cockpit drains. You can see where the drains are on my boat, though I can't say that's where they put them for everyone.

Re: Refinish sole

Looks great! Mine are in desperate need of such a treatment, but I have absolutely zero experience with refinishing interior wood so it keeps getting pushed to “next winter.” I even have a brand new, unfinished panel from the bottom of the companionway steps ready to go. When the previous owners too...

Re: Freedom 40/40 taking on water only while engine running

I actually had a similar problem on my F38 last season, though on a much smaller scale. On the F38 the cockpit drain hoses go to 2" Marelon thru-hulls, which are just aft and inboard of the side deck drains, and the emergency bilge pump outlet and propane locker drain on the port side. Last season I...

Re: Port windows F32

I think the tape that’s used is 3M VHB, which stands for “very high bond.” Then silicone fills in the gap around the glass on the outside.

Re: Forum Updated

Glad to see an update! I hate to come across neglected forums on the web.

One question: what happened to the "view active topics" link that was on the main page? That was what I always used to view new posts on the site. Any way it can come back?

I think I may know of a very nice F38 that is for sale in RI. I’ll have to check. Send me a PM.

Re: Anchor system for F-30 help me spend my money right - or

I’m pretty sure I used 16 gauge actually, since it’s such a short run. Also, I think that’s the same gauge as the wires from the foot switches, so it should be fine.

Be sure to post once it’s installed, I’d like to hear your thoughts!
