Searchable version of F36/38 manual
A few years back I made a searchable pdf version of the F36/38 owner's manual for myself, and I just realized that I never shared it with the forum. It's the same as the regular pdf version (that I believe I got from this forum), but with a layer of text over the character images that can be copied ...

Re: Stepping the Mast
You don't have a copy of the F36/38 owner's manual?? Definitely get that, it's got some good Freedom-specific info, including instructions for hoisting and installing the spar (p. 23, 24). It should be somewhere on here, but if not I can post my copy. Here are a couple of pictures of the ABS plaque ...

Big pictures!
The image size restriction has been lifted! Pictures are no longer limited to 256kb, and we can all breathe a sigh of relief. This should make it easier for people who have had trouble posting images in the past. To celebrate, here's a picture of Sunset Spy under sail, on the way from Roque Island, ...

Re: Climbing the masts on a 28 CK?
I wouldn't worry about the mast breaking, but the masthead block attachment is a different matter. Especially if it hasn't been inspected in a while. Unless you have an internally routed halyard, I would see about sending someone light up there first to inspect the connection between the block and t...

Looks good! Do you have access to all of the nuts for the countersunk bolts?

Re: Mastboot Tape
I use a soft plastic mast boot with hose clamps around it on my F38. I link to it in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=13225&p=53226#p53226

Re: Mast Collar Deck/Bolt Issue - has anyone repaired them ?
I just remembered that this is a cat ketch, not the sloop that I have! I'm pretty sure the construction is the same, but I can't say whether the nuts will be in the same place. I believe they all used the same deck collar assembly, which RigRite lists on their website. Here's the relevant part: Deck...
