Re: Electric head replacement
So did you replace either the same model? I have a manual Raritan but thinking of going electric. Have you been happy with yours?

Re: Electrical Panel Meters
I found someone sellin Bass reconditioned meters and replaced my failing ones with those. I like the way the look but they have limited functionality. I recently purchased a Bluesea OLED boat monitor that monitors 2 battery banks, 120v system, and either two bilge pumps or two tanks or one of each. ...

Re: Antal two-way traveler winch install
I spent time working on my traveler yesterday. Turns out two of the blocks were completely frozen. I ended up lining all blocks and the traveler cars (yes there are two) with McLube One Drop. Got everything moving much better. But I do think a bearing replacement is in order for both cars and all bl...

Re: Antal two-way traveler winch install
A great solution. I am trying to think of how I could install one on my F40/40. I am the only person that seems to be able to adjust the traveler by hand, even with all the purchase. There is so much friction in the system. Wondering if any others with F40/40s have come up with a solution.

Re: F 40/40 Engine Raw Water intake
Yes all the fittings are bronze (marine grade) or marelon. And the hose is exhaust rated with wire mesh intended for marine use. Very careful in those selections! The clamps you are absolutely right about. I ended up accidentally purchasing one size smaller than would fit easily around the hose. Aft...

Re: F 40/40 Engine Raw Water intake
Ahhhh, because it doesnt open the hose fitting to the through-hull. Got it. That makes sense. Darn, it would have been so much cleaner an install!

Re: F 40/40 Engine Raw Water intake
The next time I haul out I think I will replace the seacock with one of these.

That will make for a very clean install, allow for very easy clean out, and also be able to be used in an emergency to allow the engine to pump out water.

Re: F 40/40 Engine Raw Water intake
I could see how that would work. But would make me very nervous to be partially disassembling (even if just to swing out of the way) the only thing keepin water out of the boat. With the “Tee” in line I can close the seacock, remove cap, install dowel, open seacock, clear weeds, and reverse process....
