Re: F35 Which of the 3 reef points are most useful?
Mike - good info. So you also often or near-always by-pass the first reef and go right to 2? Hopefully my new reefing lines will come in Tuesday and by Thursday morning I should be good for a trial run. Just from the look of my main the first reef looks like it'll take the belly out of the sail with...

Re: F35 Which of the 3 reef points are most useful?
You may want to consider keeping reefs 1 and 2 as they are -- internal to the boom and add the third external to the boom - easy enough with 2 cheek blocks and a couple of eye straps and a block at the mast base. I have not had my Pedrick long enough to say for certain as I'm figuring my own reefing...

Re: Sail numbers
John -- I'll wade in but am already over my head here. "Some " class boats have sail numbers that are identical to their hull numbers. Some class boats do not. My original sail number from my main on my f35 p had no relation to my hull number. Sailing US/ Offshore racing rules require the use of the...

Re: Outhaul on F35 P
John - both drawings below are from on-line and are not exactly how my f35 P was rigged - what is not shown is the out-haul configuration - pic with the lines pouring out the boom-end shows 1 blue spectra line - I removed the original line tied to the outhauls aft block's becket and replaced with th...

Re: New sails Freedom 39 Express
Start getting quotes from sail makers - major brands - they should have the specs- I'm partial to Mack Sails in Florida, but that's just me! Possibly original for your boat could have been UK.

Outhaul on F35 P
My outhaul has been in a more or less stuck position since I bought the boat in October - foot is "sort of taught- sort of loose" - not what one wants for n Ca :). I was going to get to it after I figured out the reefing system. Like several have said -- once I had the original "single line" reefing...

Re: Working
Ha, could be for sure. This weekend (Friday or Saturday) I plan on marking my main halyard for reefs 1 and 2 and taking her to aquatic cove park and seeing how she performs. Could have been me being dog tired :). Incidentally, our boats have remarkably similar numbers on sailbaotdata.com Update - hm...

Working
I brought Good Way II back to Emeryville late Friday - when I passed the Brothers the wind began piping up a bit - quite typical - to 24-26kts with bumpy seas- next couple of hours were similar as usual- I noticed the Freedom 35 (p) working in the bumps-- as in the lifelines between the stantions wo...

Re: Jib traveller broke off on 40/40 w camberspar
Riki - can you describe a bit more? Did a cotter pin come out ? Or a Clovis pin or something fail? How did it fall off and what was attaching it- did the jib sheet block become undone from the foresail or did the block(s) from the jib track (traveler) come off?

Re: Mack Pack
1999 Freedom 35 (P) - with the original lazy jacks the sail would always drop over the outside edge of the lazy jacks and was always quite heavy! This is easier.
