The length available in a Freedom 30 is not enough for most shaft seals. Contact Paul Dennis at http://www.warrenriverboatworks.com/. He stocks a custom cut down waterless shaft seal for these Freedoms.
Do not install a Norscott seal as when it fails it dumps transmission oil into the ocean.

Re: New Anchor for Hoyt F32
If the anchor weight is that much of an issue maybe you should consider an aluminum spade for when your wife is single handing (15 lbs. for your Hoyt 32 because they rate their anchors by area not weight.) Spade anchors are rated pretty well. Or just buy one of the normally sized modern anchors (Roc...

Count Dan & I on Heart's Desire in, we were just wondering about that at the boat show last week.
Previously having alternated between US and Canada, so this year would be up north. Port Browning? Just let me know the preferred date.

Re: Diesel tank pitting
The tank for my 1986 Freedom 30 was manufactured by"
Aluminum Fabricated Products
PO Box 1088
Perry, Fla 32347
904 584-6898
I ordered a new tank from them in 2011 and they still had the tank specs and dimensions. The new tank matched the original and dropped right into place.

Re: Diesel tank pitting
Hi Mike - Before you cut into a non-leaking diesel tank maybe you should consider coating the affected area (if you can reach it) or try coating the tank innterior with a specialty lining material like: http://www.northernfactory.com/UserFiles/Documents/Product/Tank%20Liner%20Tech%20Bulletin.pdf to ...

Re: Yanmar white smoke
Yeah, I don't want to cut another access port so I crawl into that deep hole to operate the valve. It really isn't that often. Besides, I've built a plywood cover over my relocated water heater installed at the bottom that makes a good platform for access. Filling from a diesel dispenser at the fuel...

Re: Yanmar white smoke
The o-rings on the deck fills fail and there is also often water and sediment in the fuel coming off the dock. Having had to replace a leaking aluminum fuel tank due to water corrosion right after I bought my boat; I don't want water in my tank or my injectors. I filter all the fuel that goes into t...
