Thank you, Dwight. Yes, winter does reduce its use. Hope to rectify that.

Re: 3YM30 Alternator Belt question
Is the "flapping" normal or a sign of misalignment or slack?

3YM30 Alternator Belt question
I feel like I should know this by now but I'm not certain I have the alternator belt tight enough. There is about 1/4 inch of deflection when I give it a "good push" and with effort I can twist it 90 degrees. What makes me think it could be too loose is that when the engine is running I get some "fl...

F38 Cover
Well the canvas shop called to tell me that it isn't worth fixing my Fairclough cover as the fabric is getting weak. Re: 40/40 jib traveler car
Riki; I had a similar problem with the main traveler on our F38. It was a Harken and I spoke with Rick in their customer service who steered me to a rebuild kit that saved me tons. A very knowledgeable responsive guy. Here is his contact info (assuming yours in Harken like mine). Hardest part was ge...

Re: Fixing the Traveler or at least trying to.
Mike; Such a huge help. I was in denial, helped by a chat with Harken, that the bolt holding the end piece (yes, big boat Harken) does not go through to the cabin roof but went into a threaded hold in the traveler rail. Your explanation makes more sense given that the one on the port side simply rot...

Re: Fixing the Traveler or at least trying to.
Certainly would be great to know. Could only be under the ceiling panels in the cabin. The Harken guy didn't think so but who knows. Anyone?
