Re: Battery Monitor Set-up Question
I set my single channel Xantrex up to monitor house. I watch start with the analog meter but there's not much to watch, a normal start cycle would only suck up an amp hour or two. Th start is isolated from house and would only be connected to house in emergency. I have not had to do this in the 7 ye...

Re: deck crazing solution
Thanks for that kiwigrip pointer. I had seen this stuff before but only gave it a glancing look because I really had the deck low on my to do list. I spent some time on the Kiwigrip site and read a bunch of reviews elsewhere. it looks like the ideal DYI solution. I particularly like the water base c...

Re: Beckson Port
Mine a Beckson for sure. I have replaced screens, gaskets and windows several times now and have used beckson for supplies. My three deckhatches are Bomar.

Beckson Port
And my second problem is... I have a leaking Beckson port. Not a gasket leak but a frame to cabin leak. It was a real seeper for a long time and I did not pay too much attention but now I am seeing a little discoloration in the interior teak (several square inches) so it is time to get off my duff a...

deck crazing solution
I have some deck crazing on the forward and side decks. It is only crazed in the nonskid areas. The smooth strips between non skid areas are not showing any signs of crazing. I think this is relatively common in boats like mine which have been exposed to the hot sun for many years. I recently had a ...

Re: Climbing the mast
Thanks for the many ideas. I have decided to try the kleimheist with 2 inch webbing as a safety. This will back up my top climber. I'll push the kleimheist up as I go and I figure I'll have no more than a 24 inch drop at any point should I run into trouble with the primary. I'll probably have a hear...

Climbing the mast
I have a topclimber which works well once you have things figured out. However, my F 30 only has the single main halyard. I have ascended on the single halyard in the past but I recognize there is a risk not having a safety. Given we have a tapered mast with only one obstruction (lazy jacks and jib ...

Freedom 30 Bill of Materials
I received this years ago from a source at Freedom Yachts. A complete BOM for an F30.
