Re: Chain pipe for F21
First I fitted a cleat on top of the chain locker for the bitter end. IMG_1025.jpeg Then drilled through the deck, which has a pronounced curve. Decided to place it here rather than just behind the stantion, where it is flat, as the rope will flake better if the pipe is centralised. IMG_1028.jpeg I ...

Chain pipe for F21
I am fed up with lugging chain and anchor forward every time I want to anchor up. I keep everything I need in the cockpit locker so as not to also have to lug it through the cabin. My current anchor is a 15lb CQR and it does not fit in the bow roller without a large overhang. I'm not sure what other...

Re: F21 First sail
Hi chadrider, yes with the dodger there is a problem with the main sheet. My first solution was to take the main sheet forward and turned back on the starboard side about mid saloon roof. This was OK but port and starboard tack required easing and tightening the sheet, not ideal. This sail I moved t...

Re: F21 First sail
Not my first sail, but put together of a video of a recent outing in Milford Haven. Fabulous sunny September day with around 15knts of wind but quite variable. We had a long beat up against wind and tide followed by a much swifter run back down to the Marina. Recorded 6.5knts on a reach but unfortu...

Re: Freedom 21 Blade Jib
Here are some pics of my F21 blade jib. Once filled the kink in the Hilliard becomes less pronounced.

Re: Battery Woes
Bob, I have my panels hanging out back, using a frame attached to the pushpit The angled brackets are adjustable so I can change the angle of the panels depending on orientation in the marina and time of year. I have 2 18V 50W panels and an Epever MPPT controller. That way I am able to put the panel...

Re: Battery Woes
On my Coaster 33, which I just sold I had two Crown deep cycle batteries in my house bank (120Ah 20 hours/105Ah 5 hours). I bought these in 2017 and sold the boat recently. I have never had a problem with them, they always kept their charge well. I have moved to a pair of 50Ah LifePO4 on my Freedom ...

Re: F21 outboard motors
Castaway, hope you don't make a habit of loosing your prop, could be expensive. I have a cheap electric trolling motor as a backup on my F21, probably 1.5-2hp. That brought me home when the Mariner packed up but I struggled to get 3 knts from it. Wouldn't you believe it though. The circuit breaker t...

Re: Freedom 21 Blade Jib
Here is the spec on from that link. Wayback does not work well for me and I can not export the whole pdf so here is a screen shot of the relevant information. LP is a line perpendicular to the luff. Area is 1/2LP*Luff. I guess you can put the clew wherever you wish, the foot will depend on where you...
