Re: Antares
Welcome to Freedoms. I have a 1995 40/40 that is moored in Barrington RI. I am fortunate enough to have a mooring just a few hundred yards from Paul Dennis' shop. Hopefully there will be another Narragansett Bay get together this year. It was a great time last year. We are hoping to finally do our c...

Re: Keel Repair Question
I just did some of this myself. I used West system epoxy. You can use Cabosil or microballoons to thicken. You really need to thicken a lot to get it to stay on the vertical surface. I still had some sag, and needed to apply three layers with sanding in between. All in all not a tough job. Get the p...

Re: Narragansett Bay Get Together 2016
Looking forward to another get together. I will be taking off on my summer cruise/vacation toward the end of July. I hope we can do it early July this year. It's good to hear that there will be another 40/40. It was a great time last year and it will be better this year.

Re: Prop Shaft installation
From what I understand, you can get the shaft past the rudder with a little finesse. My yard, however, insisted upon dropping the rudder.

Re: New House Batteries - AGM or Flooded Cell?
Golf cart batteries. Sam's club. You get the most AH/$. Less to worry if you kill one and much easier to take on and off.

Re: Want to see a Freedom 40/40 in SF Bay Area
We are a long way away, but if you head to the East coast, you are welcome to come sail on our Freedom 40/40 ReJoyce out of Barrington RI. My mooring is just down the road from Paul Dennis' yard.

Re: Topic 1000
I did the 6 volt golf cart battery conversion last spring. My boat had 4D batteries so two golf carts fit right in. I got regular batteries from Sam's Club, and after doing the math and lots of help from the cruising sailor's bulletin board that turned out to make the most sense. I am not a believer...

Some of these are being done by me, but many of them are done by checkbook. I am in the midst of having the wood in my main cabin refinished. Overhead liner replacement. Replace galley faucet. Add under sink filter Redo bilge pump Possibly rebed hardware exposed by removing the headliner. Replace Ma...

Re: folding mast steps F 40/40
Paul is great and he recognizes that he is the source for advice, upkeep, improvement and supplies for Freedom Yachts. He is refinishing our main salon right now and making some improvements in the cabinetry in the galley and head. I am fortunate to be moored only half a mile from his shop. Some ite...

Re: folding mast steps F 40/40
The answer to this and most Freedom questions is Paul Dennis at Warren River Boatworks in RI. He replaced one of mine two years ago.
