Re: Isomat boom refurb
Nice! I have a couple of modifications that I made to my Isomat boom that folks might find helpful: 1. Plug the hole where animals can get in . When I first took off the end caps on my boom, I discovered a bird's nest inside. I started looking for a solution, and was told to just put a sponge in the...

Re: INSTALLING STEPS ON MAST
Here are two of the three folding steps I installed last winter to replace the original aluminum ones, one of which had begun to crack. The new ones are 316 stainless. In addition to the fasteners, I also bedded them in 5200. The original steps were screwed into threaded brass inserts, but Paul Denn...

Re: INSTALLING STEPS ON MAST
Yes, you can. You need to use machine screws, NOT self-tapping screws. The carbon fiber takes a thread very nicely, just be careful not to break your tap! One thing to know: the CF threads, while well formed, tend to be slippery, and over time screws can back themselves out. The solution is to put a...

Walk-through transom on a F38
What do you do if you love the design of your Freedom 38, but you wish that it had come with a walk-through transom? Answer: fire up the sawzall!
Anyone else on here done this to their Freedom?

Re: F21 mast bolts at sleeve
You should give Paul Dennis a call. He has 2 Freedom 21's at the moment, one of which has been chopped in half and is being used for parts. I'm sure that he could measure the bolts for you.

Re: what's the best thing you ever did in your boat?
I love this sort of thread! I'm rather proud of the iPad holder I made for my aft cabin. It's made from a scrap piece of cherry that was laying around. It supports my 12.9" iPad Pro nicely, and allows us to curl up against the hull and watch movies. We recently spent the day hiding from Hurricane Do...

Re: Storm tactics with single mast rig
Do you have a second sail track on your mast for a storm trysail? I've only ever seen it on the 40/40's, but I don't know if it was a factory option or what. Does your main have a 4th reef? For whatever reason, the previous owners of my boat stuck with the standard 2 reef points when they had new sa...
