Re: Hard rubber mast stand
It seems like you're talking about what's known as a "mast step," which is what the bottom of the mast stands on. However, they're not made of rubber. The rubber part would be the wedges, which go between the mast and the deck. This is maybe what you're looking for?: https://rigrite.com/Spars/SparPa...

Re: mast wedge help
Sounds like Spartite can make a pretty terrible mess if it's not applied properly! Sorry to hear about your problems with it, Geoff.
On my boat, it's been a complete success. No movement, no leaks, and no issues unstepping the mast. I honestly don't really think about it.

Re: mast wedge help
I had Paul install Spartite while my boat was in the water, it's not a problem. I don't remember exactly how he did it, but you can certainly call and ask him. I remember that we had to wait for a calm day.

Pretty sure it’s the same boat, due to the “2” on the sail. Freedom used the production numbers of their boats as the sail number.
Yeah, Paul rules.

I think there’s a picture of this boat hanging in the bathroom of Paul Dennis’s shop. I’ve been looking at the picture for years, and then I saw you mention that you have hull #2.

Re: Profile to F21 lifting rudder
Oh yeah, I was wondering that when I saw your posts about it.
Don’t worry, I was down there on Sunday and it’s still there. The hardware isn’t on it, but I think Paul removed it and put it aside when he scrapped the boat.

Re: Support Paul Dennis
Here here. Paul is an endless source of knowledge, and being able to benefit from his decades of experience has been invaluable for me. While I’ve had him do a good amount of work over the years, what I’ve learned from him has allowed me to make a ton of really substantial improvements and repairs m...

Re: 40/40 Vang attachment slides?
I don't think it's supposed to slide. Do you see any holes for fasteners in the sliding piece that would fix it in place? Or any holes in the track on the boom? When I replaced my vang, I had to affix the new under-boom fitting to the boom. Finding the correct location in the track was a bit tricky....

Re: Alternative to an Edson Wheel Cover???
I’ve done two now, a 32” and a 40”, both from kits made by a guy in Seattle. I think it was boatleather.com. A very satisfying experience, and a high quality product.
Probably not cheaper than Edson’s kit, but higher quality in my opinion.

Re: OMG he is talking about the camberspar again and needs help
Hey Mike, A few things: 1. Paul tells me that according to Dave Bierig, Freedom used tubing that was a size smaller than what he had spec'd. He's not sure why. The camberspar that came with my first Freedom had a quite severe curve in it, and I think that that has to do with the lighter duty tube be...
