Re: Sheave Replacement
Gday Geoff, The other side of the boom is blank (you cant see anything, so the other end of the pin is fastened internally somehow) It looks like the pins are welded to the plates. Thanks Marno I don't have any answers for you, but I have some questions: 1) Does the other side of the boom look just ...

Sheave Replacement
I need to replace some of the sheaves in my boom. I am not 100% sure how to remove the pin holding them in place, so I thought I'd ask. I have removed the screw.
Thanks
Marno

Re: Voltage Regulation for LED Lighting
Gday George, I had a similar problem with my LED's and someone suggested I use a voltage regulator ( http://www.reuk.co.uk/LM2940-12V-1A-Low-Dropout-Regulator.htm ). Simple to put in the circuit and it should keep the voltage to 12v DC regardless of your battery charging at 14 plus volts etc... I ha...

Re: 2009 Destinations: long and short
We stopped in PTown without knowing the background (ingorant Ozzies), the day before the Mardi Gras started. Well worth a look and it's a lot of fun. I have a few pictures on the website. http://www.yachtattitudes.com/photogallery/This%20took%20a%20bit%20of%20convincing%20but%20I%20think%20he%20fits...

Stay with the 316, you will suffer more with rust with 304.

Re: Windlass Upgrade vs. Rebuild
I have the same windlass as you, and found that as Michel says, the grease gets very sticky. With regular use of the windlass I found that I needed to regrease the clutch every 6 months or so. As I remember it was fairly easy once I did it the first time. You are part way there if you undo the nut a...

Re: Rudder Post Electrolysis
This is mostly about the skeg repairs I did, although I did drill some test holes in the bottom of my rudder to see if it was wet (it was a little). I may have some shots of the exposed shoe, if you want them let me know and I'll go hunting.

Re: Abandoned Fuel Tank
I had my ally tank welded up recently (which solved my problem, fortunately), while it was away I was thinking that I would have to glass it to take care of some pinholing, so I sent off to West System for details of how to fix it (we had glass tanks in the family boat when I was a kid). This should...
