Hey folks,
here is Circe my new to me 1997 Freedom 40/40 Anniversary Edition, passing under the Golden Gate yesterday afternoon, almost 500 miles after leaving San Diego, on her way to her new home in Richmond, CA.

Re: My "new" 40/40
Thanks, I guess your new build allows room for the Rocna. I guess I will have to work on a modification.

Re: My "new" 40/40
Hey Geoff, I ended up purchasing the Rocna 25. Getting it on the bow is another story. Did you have to make any modifications? On my bow the roll bar of the rocna hits the nav lights. There doesn't seem to be a way to get it past them. I may have to have the light mount cut off and move it elsewhere...

F 40/40 2nd Bilge Pump location
Hey folks, I bought Circe, a F 40/40 a couple of months ago and since have been getting her ready for her trip north from San Diego to the SF Bay Area (about 450 miles of bashing!). Anyhow, I am having trouble finding the second bilge pump. The first one is mid cabin under the sole. Easy to find. Th...

Re: New Anchor for Hoyt F32
Just FYI I went looking for the KB Article about the swivel that Geoff posted. The current correct URL is here http://kb.rocna.com/kb/Swivels Interesting point about lateral loads are what cause swivels to fail and the way to avoid that is to put a short piece of chain between the anchor and the swi...

Re: My "new" 40/40
Thanks for the response. Will probably purchase either the 25Kg Rocna or Mantus. Both are very well designed and seem to work really well. The Mantus seems to set a bit better in a variety of conditions, the Rocna is one piece, so no chance of bolts loosening. I also like the Spade Anchor a lot but ...

Electrical Panel Meters
Hey folks, purchase almost complete on my new to me 97 Freedom 40/40 "Circe". I am wondering if anyone has had to replace any of the electrical meters on the panel? Both my DC meters are shot. I have contacted Bass, the panel manufacturer, but they have not responsed. I am pretty sure these should b...

Re: My "new" 40/40
Hey Geoff, In the final stage of purchasing my "new" boat, Circe a '97 Freedom 40/40. I was wondering if you ever found polars? Also looks like you may have a Mantus (or maybe a Rocna) anchor on the bow. What weight? 55lbs? How have your found its holding. Circe has way undersized anchor and needs u...
