Re: Freedom 35 Pedrick Cockpit Cushions for Sale
I have a complete set of cockpit cushions that fit the Freedom 35' Pedrick design (1994) All are white vinyl over foam and look nearly new. Comfortable to sit on and have a zipper and hold-down snaps. These were new about 5 years ago and have seen very little or no use for the last 4 years and have ...

Polyethelyne Water Tank Inspection Port and Tank Vent Changes
Project 2: One of this winter's projects has been to address the issue of the inspection port on the fresh water tank leaking water from inside the tank to the outside. Whenever I over-fill the tank or the boat heals excessively the factory installed inspection port leaks around the ring and possibl...

Re: Looking for Freedom 35
I see a couple on Yachtworld.com in the 55K to 65K range.
I don't have any plans to sell my 1994 but if someone made me a really high offer I would consider it.
Cheers!

Re: Relocating the Waterline
A friend of mine had a similar problem with his Pearson. He was getting a lot of growth on his boot stripe so he repainted the boot stripe using Pettit Vivid bottom paint. He reported excellent results with the boot stripe resisting growth and it stayed looking sharp. The Vivid comes if several brig...

Re: Fuel Water Separator F32
On the fuel fill for the fuel tank (usually on deck somewhere) there should be a fuel cap with an O-ring seal. All boat owners should inspect this annually and replace the O-ring when it shows sign of wear (normally 2-3 years). This is the #1 way that water enters into the fuel tank. I have dual Rac...

Alternative to an Edson Wheel Cover???
I need to replace the leather cover on my 32" Edson steering wheel. Defender wants about $210 for the kit. That seems excessive for a strip of leather with a bunch of little holes in it. I see similar leather kits for automobile wheels for about 1/10th the cost. Has anyone found a replacement for th...

Re: Wing keel
I have a wing keel on my 35'. I've considered adding a hefty U-bolt at about the boot stripe on the bow. My thought is that if I needed to get pulled off from a hard grounding having a low tow point would add a bit of lift to the bow when pulled and help keep the angle the wings on the keel upward. ...

Re: Prop Suggestions for 28M
I am a big fan of the Campbell Sailor prop, however looking at the photo I'm inclined to agree that is likely more of a fouling problem. My suggestion is if the Max Prop Blades in the photo are not loose then clean the prop, paint it with Pettit Prop Zinc spray paint (or similar) and see how it does...

Re: Reef lines on CC45
For the outhaul reefing line ONLY I replaced my 5/16 Sta-Set with 1/4" Dyneema. Since the Dyneema is stronger you can use a smaller diameter and it is a bit slippery. Trying to tuck in and shake out a reef with the Sta-Set didn't work very well because there was so much friction. It now works very s...

Lead Keel, Repairing the Pitting & Peeling
I have a 35' with a lead wing keel that the coating has de-laminated in various spots exposing the lead. Last spring I removed all the loose spots I could find. There was a little pitting of the metal along some of the edges. I sanded, ground out and filled these spots with thickened epoxy which I t...
