Aft keel bolt and bilge support weeping F36/38
Last summer I hit ground on my way to Block Island. I looked at keel the best I could with mask and fins and only notice some minor damage to fairing on the bottom of the keel. There was no water leaking into the boat so we continued sailing the rest of the season. I had the fairing repaired and jus...

Re: Fresh water holding tank water level monitor
The fresh water flush that I plan to install involves a separate tank under the forepeak bunk.

Fresh water holding tank water level monitor
Hi All I am installing a separate fresh water flush tank for the head and it got me thinking about the main fresh water holding tank. The problem with the holding tank is that there is no way to determine how much water is left in the tank! Since the tank is fully encased by the stbd setee there is ...

Re: Question: Cutlass Bearing - details for a F36?
Hi,
I replaced Dolcetto's cutless bearing in 2016 when I replaced the shaft, engine mounts and shaft seal. This is the model that I used on my 1987 F36/38.

Keel sheathing on F36/38
The boat was just hauled out of the water so the prep for spring begins! I had a minor grounding this summer and the a piece of material sheathing the keel broke off the forward lower corner of the keel. Is the keel on the F38 (deep draft keel) encapsulated in fiberglass or is it fairing material? T...

Re: Haliard wear in outer covering
The first question I have is how old is the halyard and what is it made of? My main halyard (Sampon Dacron double braid) is well over 10 years old and the cover by the clutch shows very little wear. I suspect the cover is not Dacron (maybe some type of UV sensitive material) or there is something wr...

Antal two-way traveler winch install
I just finished installing the Antal two-way winch to handle the traveler controls. The 8:1 winch and the 2:1 blocks gives me a 16:1 purchase. 12 turns on winch to go from all the way port to all the way stbd.

Re: 2:1 main halyard
The 2:1 halyard is fantastic. I can hoist the sail by hand, the halyard clutch doesn't slip, I can finally achieve full hoist, there is less compression of the mast. The halyard is dead-ended at the top of the mast so if I need to change the halyard it requires a trip up the mast. I have a large blo...
