Re: Pulling the foremast
No worries.....much easier than a conventional rig and you're amost ready to pull. So....here is how I do it after doing what you've already done. Next step... .....remove the mast collar...I like to use a piece of light line to tie it up above the deck to keep it out of the way and to secure it fro...

Re: F28CK gooseneck
Thanks Tekes Pride for your response.......I hear what you are saying regarding the need to accommodate the changing angle of the boom.....so I am (re) thinking of incorporating a vertical articulation into the fork to boom attachment. That way the bands of glass layup on the mast could be parallel ...

F28CK gooseneck
My Freedom 28CK has conventional booms but the gooseneck fittings are way too lightly made. I've ne...

Re: what a day!!!
Hey Michel & Numbknots; Sincerelely.....Thanks for the sage advice.....and truth be known..I do know better having read Gary Hoyts "Ready About" as well as every other resource on cat ketch rigs that I can get my hands on. So that days sail was just an experiment and not something I would do on a re...

what a day!!!
Holy *%$#......Just had the best sail of the season as the sailing season comes to a close up here in the frozen wastelands of Ottawa, Canada. Set a new speed record for Kairos, an F28CK hull #2 (centreboard version). Winds blowing steady 21 knots with frequent gusts to 28 knots. Sailing solo, only ...

Re: SSB antenna on a catketch
Hi Michel.....may I suggest you take your question over to the Seven Seas Cruising Association website....they have several contributors on their forum who are well versed in everything SSB....Bill Trayfors comes to mind among others. If you can't find an answer within that group it probably can't b...
