Re: engine sizing for an F28 ck Hoyt
First, where did you get 3 tonnes from? Feronia weighs just over 5 tonnes on the crane with a full fuel tank, empty water tank, catering equipment, rubber dinghy, warps, fenders, a couple of bottles of wine, part bottles of gin and whisky, a few beers, bedding and some clothing. The engine is a Beta...

Re: F30 CK Centreboard movement
The F30 bearing is easier to get at than the F35 bearing. The yoke is held by bolts only - there is no pin to remove before lowering, so no lifting needed. The only difficulty might be the degree of violence needed to persuade the yoke to descend - we had to use a club hammer and a block of wood on ...

Re: F32 reefing
Absolutely no offence taken. I'm sorry, but it is difficult to see what part of the sail that is. You should not need to crop photos, but you do need to resize them (reduce the resolution). There are instructions about that on the forum.

Re: F32 reefing
They look like the holes for the leech line. It's normal to bring the leech line out to a small jamming cleat which would be mounted between those two holes. But they wouldn't usually go right through the sail and you don't appear to have a leech line.

Re: Adjustable boom choker on a CK; is it really necessary?
The original setup on the 28/30 CK, as far as I can make out, was just a length of 12mm rope round the mast with a loop tied in the middle. The loop provides the attachment for the boom halyard, limit strop and reefing tackle. I've gone for the slightly posher addition of a stainless steel ring hitc...

Re: Manual bilge pump
Do you have any photographs of your pump? The range of manual pumps is shown here: https://www.whalepumps.com/marine/product-application-items.aspx?Category_ID=10009&FriendlyID=Manual-bilge-pumps I don't think Whale has changed the design of any of their traditional manual pumps - the Mk5 and the Gu...

Re: Manual bilge pump
Which Whale pump? Whale has a range of spares kits, so I'd be surprised if you couldn't refurbish it.

If you have the original rig - a single halyard hoisting a double halyard - the sizes are here:

Re: depth and speed sensor question
If you can obtain the correct log impeller unit you should have no worries about inserting it afloat. I've removed a log impeller on many occasions to clear weed - that's why they are made removable afloat. The water pressure is trivial - a 2 or 3 foot head - which you can easily hold back with the ...

Re: storm sail on a F30 CK?
My storm staysail is original equipment. It may have been used by the first owner, but not since.
Luff 5.35m 17' 7"
Leech 4.35m 14' 3"
Foot 2.14m 7' 0"
That leech measurement is the straight line. There's a fair degree of negative roach.
