Re: F35 P re-building table

PO had taken out the original overhead circular cabin light and replaced with a nice LED light. It’s in a nice rectangular wooden box frame. There are two of these-one aft- all lights are now LED -you can also see some hanging-sagging overhead headliner. I removed it all when doing the deck work and...

F35 P re-building table

PO had tried to tighten wood screws into the fold down table top - three legs -- 2 for leaf and 1 for main table -- but screws were stripped. He used larger screws which poked right up through the top side of both leaf and table. Didn't really look great that way with steel glaring at you. I removed...

Re: WHICH TO BUY, F32, 35 PEDRICK OR 36/38?

Skiff— there is a thread on this forum briefly describing this delivery. Gulf Star 47 motor sailer with all equipment new 8 yrs ago and all messed up now. Nothing good about slogging 6-8 kts up hill the whole way. Mainsail was out to stabilize (no more than 1/2 due to owners reluctance). Wind on nos...

Re: WHICH TO BUY, F32, 35 PEDRICK OR 36/38?

Skiff - I had no core damage at all, mast was terrific. It’s gel coat was oxidizing (slap your hand in the gel oat and if your hand comes up white or gel oat color, oxidation) so a coat of good wax solved that.

Re: WHICH TO BUY, F32, 35 PEDRICK OR 36/38?

Hello Skiff— I have a F 35 Pedrick (1999). I’ve had her about 2 yrs, including a lengthy refit on the hard. I sail SF Bay and environs. With her new sails she can point 37 degrees with power. I like the roller furling jib as I can furl that small jib in a bit in bigger air and be dragged around on r...

Re: Delivery

Hello Doug Last leg now is kind of like our first day out of sf to bodega. Quite spirited but not the high winds we had then. Wild though. 2 hrs more to West Port WA, Btw - check out the single handed transpac start with live tracking. We are tracing Mike and Carliane! Sweet. We are bouncing around ...

Delivery

3 of us are delivering a 47’ Gulf Star motor sailor from Stockton to Seattle. June 6, against prudence, saw us depart SAn Francisco and arrive Bodega Bay. That leg saw 9-20’ seas and 25-37kt breeze. We should have waited. Waited 10days in Bodega Bay for a window, then went 32 hrs to Brookings OR. Ca...

Re: Chalky decks

Jeff - if you can slap the deck with your hand and your hand has chalky stuff on it, wax it -recommend using something like a sherhold wax with a low speed buffer. Yes do the non skid and smooth. Do the mast too. Spray off the grime first. Use boat soap and a brush. Use a light weight scrub, nothing...
