Re: Merry Christmas to me! A new F-32 owner!

My Hoyt 32 has a bilge pump in the shower. It pumps out through a hose and a through hull that is in the foul weather gear locker in the head. The pump works off the sump pump circuit breaker then an on/off switch above the sink in the head.

Re: reseating aft fixed ports

If your windows are just "glued in" only with the sealant I'm not sure what you should use for that (not plain silicone or 5200, I know that much.) If there are some screws or other fasteners actually holding it in and then just sealed with some sort of goo, I have really become a convert to, and a ...

Re: Spinnaker retriever line

I've always used mine on the aft side. I tried it on the forward side once and it worked, but I got kind of a balled-up wad of spinnaker trying to go into the bag. The aft side has the problem of the belly of the chute briefly wanting to dip into the water ahead of the boat just as the chute is star...

Re: Hoyt 32 Strut for Shaft

Electrolysis ate mine about 10 years ago, too. The bottom of it was gone completely, the cutlass bearing was still on the shaft, it just wiggling free in the water with nothing holding it. I wondered why the shaft was making a clunking noise all the time! I was in the yard and couldn't find one or e...

Re: Esoteric part

Mine doesn't have one and in 30 years I've never heard of one ever mentioned on an F32.

I'll take a SWAG that it's the PO's (really very good) idea, not a factory option.

Re: Chain locker capacity on Hoyt F32

Our circumstances are so similar it's spooky: I have a Hoyt 32, a Muir vertical windlass that handles rope but won't shove it down the hawse pipe, but will handle G4 chain automatically, I actually have a (essentially the same) Manson Supreme instead of a Rocna. My anchor needs a 1 foot shove to get...

Re: My F32 (Hoyt) needs new batteries

I'd be interested in your research results on this, especially whatever you find on the cost of lithiums that are actually available. I have the same setup as you; 4 - 6v GC batteries and a 12v starting battery (for me, I'd make the starting battery a regular starting battery, not a deep cycle. I on...

Re: Propeller options on a Freedom 32 (Hoyt)

On my Hoyt 32 I have a 3GMD with a KM3-A transmission, 2.61 gear ahead, 3.16 gear astern. The original 2 blade (from the factory) was a 14" diameter 14" pitch right hand (1" tapered shaft.) I replaced that with a solid 3 blade prop that was a wildly large-bladed 14 dia x 15-ish pitch, which was too ...

Re: Freedom Yachts

Not forward at all, messing with the boat is probably what I'd be doing anyway. I'm a gunmount true believer and wouldn't pass up a chance to preach the gospel. ;) The boat is about 40 minutes south of Tallahassee at Shell Point. We can run the chute up and down at the dock or go for a short sail. D...
