Re: Wing keel
There's no doubt that the wing keel is a great anchor. I've gone aground several times and simply waited for the tide to rise. So, don't go aground at high tide! :D The biggest problem is that you can't tip the boat to shorten the draft of the wing keel, as the edges just dig in deeper. Right now, w...

Here's a photo of the prop strut showing the location of the set screws. I suspect that yours will be different.

Re: Cutlass (Morse) Bearing Removal - F-33
On my 4040, there were set screws holding it in place.

Re: Original Harstick/F30 aft reef lines
I have a 40/40, but I assume that the same logic applies. Personally, I have found that a loose-footed main performs better than the alternative. I assume that Freedom found the same thing, as that's what they show in their diagrams. The reefing system gains a 2:1 pull-down, and one of the key thing...

Pulling the motor in a 40/40
I need to replace the motor mounts on my Yanmar 3JH2-TBE on my 40/40, and I want to pull the motor to do this and other maintenance. Has anyone pulled motor, and how did you do it? I was thinking about an A-frame, but the water tank (shown in 1st picture) is in the way. The engine drive refrigeratio...

Re: Boom Vang mast collar
I have a 40/40, which utilizes the same boom vang collar, and mine sits on top of the mast ring. I use probably 1/4" extremely stiff sheet rubber to go between the boom vang collar and the mast. I crank that down as tight as I can make it. My biggest issue is the collar rotating in high winds. I hav...

Re: 40/40 anchor chain roller
I have replaced ours several times. I make it out of HDPE and drill it out, on a lathe. If you don't have a lathe, bring it to a machine shop and they should be able to do it quickly.

Re: Camber spar
On my 40/40 I have the long end attached to the jib sheet so that there's sufficient force to keep the camber spar arched upward so that the hatch (and Breeze Booster) can be open without rubbing sailcover.

Impeller puller for Yanmar 3JH series
If you're like me and curse every time that you have to change your impeller, I just (hey, I've *only* owned BlueJacket for 23 years...) found this impeller puller for a Yanmar 3JH motor. It is part #129671-92110. This may fit other impellers. s BlueJacket has been stuck in Guatemala for the past 2 ...
