Re: Freedom 40 Centerboard another issue
My brother is rebuilding Freedom 40 #7. The centerboard is partially down. It is most likely the heavy steel version. We have question about the mechanism as it exists. There is winch which exerts a pull on another cable, doubled as a safety? The distant end of has an eye splice and u bold jammed at...

Re: MAST REPAIR PROCESS F39PHS?
Here is how the previous owner of my boat repaired the mast. It is still intact after six or seven years now? He and we have sailed with full rig to 30knots. We got caught with 60 knot gust in line squall.(I had sails down before leading edge hit) "Michel as far as mast repair that was a long ordeal...

Re: How do you rig the gun mount pole?
Here is a youtube video of a gunmount spinnaker launch. Not my video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pc1-AsMX8uQ
I have a freedom 28 cat ketch, mizzen staysail, no spinnaker. Hope this helps though.

Re: hit by lightning
In florida, I have been in a few thunderstorms already in Clave'. We do try to avoid. But they are near daily summer events. Whether sailing, anchored or at the dock, lightning is about. No hits yet. Interesting topic. There were 23 lightning deaths last year, least on record. 450000 smoking deaths,...

Freedom 28 (UK30) cat ketch hull numbers
My 1981 Freedom 28 (UK 30) cat ketch is #112 I wondered if the UK builders were assigned starting with #100? To those of you with Freedom 28 cat ketches or F30 cat ketches in Europe, how about year of production and hull number. I know the Freedom 30 cat ketch was produced longer in England but curi...

Re: Narragansett Bay Get Together 2015
I am enjoying watching the planning for the nbgt. I have checked the satellite images of the harbor. What is the holding ground like? I know the old F30uk(28) cat ketch, Clave', could make it...I just have to add some mast height, some foils and sail from tampa bay to the keys bahamas bermuda and on...

Re: Dropping Things
You put it back on... When I was going through spares I found an extra set of screws for the pump impeller cover. I will bet there is another set at the bottom of the bilge. I know where the socket 1/4 " adapter is... I lost a pair of sunglasses. Spent some time in the grunge....Nope I put them in a...
