What kind of problems did you have with Marine Air AC. Looking to install AC for next season in my 36.

I attach a socket/wrench to the alternator pulley nut and turn the alternator pulley. If it turns over the engine without the belt slipping I consider it tight enough.

Re: Yanmar 3GM30F exhaust water plumbing
Yes I have a similar arrangement on my 36 except the tee is much further up under the engine compartment and the hose and fitting going to the cockpit drain is much smaller. Always thought of it as a siphon break and never really got a lot of water out of it. If you think about it it is a good check...

Re: exhaust elbow
I replace my exhaust elbow on my 1986 Freedom 36 recently. Best I can tell it has never been replaced. I've had the boat since 2001. Frequently I would checked the elbow by feeling the top of the elbow to be sure it was cool to the touch but in the back of my mind I knew I should have replaced it ju...

Re: New pedestal guard for F38 is trickier than anticipated
Josh I had a similar concern and angonized over drilling it out. The reduction in materials thickness was only 1/8" so went for it. So far so good even with all the electronics hanging on it and the cockpit table. I'm surprised Edson wouldn't consider providing update bases to accommodate the larger...

Re: New pedestal guard for F38 is trickier than anticipated
I did the upgrade to 1.25" guard a couple of years ago. Of course ran into the same problem with the base of pedestal. I bought a 1.25" drill bit and drilled out the original top plate, sanded it and repainted. Looks good and only cost me the price of a drill bit on Amazon and a can of spray paint.

Re: using a drill for raising the main
I've used the Winchrite on my F36 for the last two years and works great. I used the Milwaukee right angle drill to raise my rigging guy up the mast and found the Winchrite to be easier in that it can be handled by one hand once fitted in place. Not as bulky.

Did you inadvertently use a different anode material from last time. They come in zinc, aluminum and magnesium and all have different rates of wear.
