When it rains I get water around the mast into the cabin. I have wrapped like a mummy from the collar up with self sealing tape. I have caulked all around where the collar hits the deck. I guess moving the shaft seal 1/16 or 1/8 movement forward could be my limit. Thank you both.

I need to slide the Tides Marine shaft seal forward a smidge to see it that will stop the leaking. Does anyone have an approximation of how long the stern tube is? I assume (betting the boat on this) that moving it 1/4 - 3/8 will not create a risk.
