I recently replaced one of the 23s on my F-33 with an electric winch. I
have a friend that wants to post it on ebay for sale but in case any
freedom owners need a replacement I thought I’d offer it here first. If
you’re interested let me know. I haven’t figured out a price yet but it
will be reasonable.

I don’t know. I’ll research a price and hopefully someone with
an F-30 will tell us or next time you’re at your boat let me know. Is there a
reason you need to replace yours?

drill bit strips it out? Who knows I know nothing,…Others please
let me know.
A bit of sharing,met a lady captain who had a free air ticket to be
used in Nov, She is coming to Mrytle Beach to sail with me. In
return I will fly into Houston later and sail with her.
I have an offer to any of you who would like to come down for a
vacation to Mrytle Beach to sail with me, and I will put you up in my
home, and show you the sights in my area for exchange…I would do
this to gain experience and confidence…bring significant other is fine.

That’s why I asked. Winches are pretty sturdy and the major
parts and pieces rarely break. Usually one can disassemble them easily and
clean and grease them lightly and they work like new. A spare winch is good for
parts or if one has that rare total breakdown it’s a little easier to replace
it with one that fits in the same bolt holes. Sometimes one is looking for
additional winches to add a mizzen staysail on one of the cat ketches and its
cheaper to buy used ones. Some boats don’t have self tailing winches and its
nice to replace those with self tailers.
If you’re ever in Boston let me know and my wife and I will take
you for a sail on our 33.
