Hi Wayne -
I have such a beast. The manual gives and overview and some data. However, by the age of ten when I bought it, there were a few modifications.
We are in the Chesapeake at the moment but would be happy to copy the manual and mail it to you.
Best way is to crawl around in every hole and take notes on what goes where.
The manual won’t have anything but schematics.

Hi John i woul’d buy the manual as well please if possible my freedon is hull 15 and its in Israel. i am working on it for the last 9 monthes new tanks new varnish new anchor locker and many more. the boat was painted all white on the teak wood so it was very long to take of the white now its all teak again. the problem is that in Israel people dosn;t know this boat, its the only 1 here, so we don’t have an idea how to make a new camper spar and more. so every thing can help me alot. i have lots of photos of every part of the boat while working if someone needs. thanks YakiJoanJohn@… wrote: Hi Wayne - I have such a beast. Hi Yaki -
I will try to scan the manual into a word document, but may find it easier to simply copy and mail. I will need your mailing address in Israel for that.
As for making a new camber spar, I can put you in touch with Paul Dennis in Warren River, Rhode Island, who is the most knowledgeable person on Freedoms. He managed production at Freedom Yachts for 11 years and helped build the first few 45’s.
He would have good information on where to obtain camber spars and various other esoteric parts for Freedoms. His company is Warren River Boat Works. His email address is wrbtwks@… (W= Warren, R= River, BT= boat, WKS = works)
What happened to your current camber spar?
I am traveling to New England this week (by auto) and when return I will work on copying the manual.

I have a manual, it came with hull # 30. Problem is it is not very
accurate. The illustrations and wiring diagrams are often wrong.
Not sure if the manuals were not real accurate, or if details
changed as the design and detail work matured, or if the POs made
changes. The head plumbing details seem to be especially off, as
are the wiring diagrams. I could copy it if you need it.
let me know

Wayne,
you’re probably better off finding a Freedom 45 to tour with the owner.
The owner’ll know more about the boat than the manual will lead you to,
especially since - as has been pointed out by others - owners make
changes the manual never anticipated. Nothing beats having your eyes on
an actual, real F 45.
I think you also asked what leads people to the F 45 over other more
conventional boats. The only true drawback I see is the on-deck
storage, which is limited to a single water-tight starboard locker.
This leads to docklines, fenders, and other pieces of gear lashed to
the rails (although on my one F-45 sea trial, a pair of shoes stayed
placidly in place on the swim platform as well).
The quality of construction, including the use of highly hydrophobic
vinylester resins, is a big plus, and you can’t beat the unstayed rig,
unless, of course, you really really really need to point at 29 degrees
instead of 35 (which you won’t get unless you’re cruising a C&C 120 or
something anyway). The 45 strikes me as a big, powerful, sleek,
comfortable cruiser. Get aboard one and see if you don’t end up wanting
one. bad.

A F45 would be near the top of my list and the wife’s for a comfy
liveaboard.

I have a copy, and would be glad to copy it for you and mail it. But the last person I did this for never paid me, so please send a check for$10 and I will get it off to you with the change.

Wayne -
Lance is right. the boat manual doesn’t mean much any more. Go with inspection and take notes.
