Has anyone had the problem of the camber spar keeping the jib
curved the wrong way after tacking? – ie: not rotating around. Looks most
peculiar and the only answer seemed to be to slack the halyard slightly and
then tighten it up again after the spar had flipped to the other side.

Could be the following:
Both
ends of camberspar pivots and I found when inspecting mine there is some
crud buildup prevent it spin freely or you may have tight down the jib
onto the mast end of the spar to tight and restricted the freedom to spin.
Pulling
the jib onto the clews on the end of the camberspar may be too
tight. You can position the little arms on the mast end of the spar
via a pin in at least three different positions. I would move it
back one and loosen the pocket a little and try that.
Forestay
to tight (however this is not likely the cause).

Thanks Bob, some good thoughts…
Well it definitely isn’t #3 since the forestay had a notable sag
when we removed the jib for hauling (and for the 60 mph winds we are having today!).
Hadn’t thought about #2 - - we’ll give that a try in the Spring.
Thanks again
