cockpit coamings and docking line stoarge on F32

Posted by rnld_brr (rwhb@…>)

Has anyone come up with a solution to sealing these two lockers on the
cockpit coamings of the F32? They seem very usefully located but are
forever getting wet inside. I stored my docking lines in them and they
get quite soggy — and where else do people keep their docking lines
by the way? I am trying to find a place to hang them in the starboard
cockpit locker. It seems the hoses from the bilge pump etc get in the way.

All suggestions much appreciated.

Ron, I agree with the problem of the water-everything gets wet in there. I recently got a piece of that square snap together 12" rubber things(?)====can’t remember the name of them. I cut them to size and made a floor-to sit things on so they don’e sit in dirty water.

I bought a “Line Hanger” at West Marine for my lines. It is stainless steel, has four big hangers and I screwed it into my lazarette in the inside of the opening. It’s hard to get in and out of the lazurette with it there, but I can squeeze by!

I no longer have my F-32 (sadly), but I had my dock lines on hooks that
were attached to a board (teak) that fit along the inside lip of the
lazzarette. All I had to do was lift open the cover and undo the
bungee to free the line. When they were put in, wet, they hung to air
dry.
