I looked into the Mack Boring course and opted for a 1 day course in
Maine with Ocean Navigator:

The instructors were very good for basic introduction to diesels and
if you know the basics it fills in the gaps. They teach at the
school where they teach real mechanics. It was not really hands on,
but we spent a good deal of time in the shop with running engines.
There is one coming up 4/24/2004.
A little secret; after the course the instructor gave us is his email
and said if you ever have a question… I gave this a try and he
replied in under two days… and he was right.
