Dimensions of F33 Sails, Masts, and Wishbones.

Hi All: HELP. I am confused about the differing dimensions of various
F33 sailing rigs of both US and British manufacture. For 16 years I
have been actively sailing a 1982 F33 MK II #55 (no centerboard and
4’6" draft) built by TPI. I have measured my main wishbone at a total
length of 19.5 ft which handles a wrap around sail with a 16’9" foot
quite nicely. My mizzen boom is 14ft in total which accepts a 12’ on
the foot sail. I use the original (to me) “wishbone lashing (two ropes
system)” with which I have absolutely no problems. However, I have
just seen a British F35 sail that is considerably smaller on the luff
than I care for (34’vs37.5) and it had a fabric and webbing “girdle”
around the mast that I had never seen before! Furthermore, I
understand they(UK) made even smaller mains and mizzens. Also, as my
sails are now all second and third hand, which sailmaker now has any
current experience building new sails? If someone has a short history
of the various rig dimensions I would appreciate hearing from you. My
interest is mostly curiosity and not earth-shaking.
Thanks John Jones

John,

Look in the files section; I posted a list of all Freedom sail
measures. I do not guarantee they are correct.

John,
can’t help you with dimensions, but I’m quite satisfied with the job
Haarstick did on my new main.
