I appreciate the feedback regarding the lower rudder bearing possibly
expanding over time and creating a bind in the steering assembly.
Has anyone dropped their rudder in a F-30?
Is there an online schematic that can be e-mailed, or does anyone
know the correct chronilogical order of removal?
How heavy is the rudder?
Lastly, should I have a boatyard do it or is it relatively
straightforward?
After inspecting I noticed that the bellcrank is actually slipping on
the rudder shaft when turning to port for a short time before turning
the rudder. It is unusually hard to turn this season. I’m hauling
her out this Friday to bottom paint.
