F-33 Sailing characteristics

Posted by tgcmd (Finesse@…>)

Could someone give me an idea of the sailing characteristics of the
F-33 cat ketch in coastal and offshore waters? My Freedom sailing has
all been in the F-30 sloop.
Thanks.

Hi Thomas The solid-keel 33 that I have is a wonderful sailor on
all points of sail. It is not perfect tight on the wind but better
than many others. Slightly off the wind thru running it is
outstanding. I have the original wishbone booms and love it. I
have sailed also on a friends CB ketch with conventional booms and
he likes mine better. But, you know all about opinions! I can get
very detailed in my likes and dislikes after having the 33 for
15years. Need more, ask. John

Fair to windward, very good when the wind is free, easy to sail(I
singlehand,and I’m 65 )Will self steer easily,and is very comfortable in a
seaway. I like the ability to do everything from the cockpit. A big 33 feet.
I have regular booms.
