Hi all,
over the last few days several of you have moved over to “Freedom
Owners Group” on yahoo
(http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FreedomOwnersGroup) to avoid the spam
that has suddenly inundated this board. I’m currently researching how
we can archive the messages from this board and make them available
to the new board (not promising, but worth investigating). We have
two moderators on the other board as well as the owner (me) whose
sole purpose is to make sure the board stays spam-free. If you’ve
gone over and been put off by the fact that membership
requires “approval,” rest assured that this is only a preventive
measure against bots and other spammers from getting automatic
entrance to the group.
Some of you may also remember that FOG was originally created to
discuss the possibilities of forming an “owners” association in the
spirit of the Nonsuch and other make/model groups; however, the need
for a spam-free forum to discuss not only the technical issues we
face but also the sheer joy of sailing these boats outweighs the
effort to create a Freedom organization. Please come join FOG and
let’s continue the great exchange of ideas and information.
