I was curious about the length of the gumount yard on a F21.
Also, what is the meaning of the number on the mainsail, does it
happend to correspond with the hull number?

Each line proceeds in a different way but Brian summed up the
general practice best. The first three digits: TSP or FYC are for
the manufacturer with the latter on all boats built after the sale
of Freedom yachts in 1989. Usually there will follow a model ID such
as 36 or 38 for Freedom 36 and then three digits for the sequential
hull #. The last four digits of the 12 digit HIN are for the month
the hull was molded starting in January with an “A” and February
with a “B” etc and the the year the hull was molded followed by the
model year. There are some lines where numbers were skipped and the
Freedom 36 is a good example where the first boats were only even
numbers through hull # 10. Hope this helps.

well my sail number is number 1 I will have to check the hull after reading about the HINS

Look on page 11 on Rick’s post “Freedom Manuals”. The numbering
system seems to have changed over the years…
