F25 Hull dimensions

Posted by airwalker100 (airwalker@…>)

I have just purchased a 1980 F25 and am in the process of having a
trailer converted to accomodate it. The modification requires some
reasonably accurate measurements of the hull to place the welded
stanchions. Does anyone know where I can get this data? Mike

Having had a couple trailers converted,
you probably can’t get the hull dimensions. You need a competent boat
yard that has done trailer conversions and knows sailboats to assist. The boat
and trailer get to the same spot and they hang the boat over the trailer and do
the measurements. I had a F 28 transported from California to Arizona. I was converting
a trailer that had been used for a wing keeled O’Day 270. My boat yard,
from pictures of the F 28 on the hard and knowing the draft and length of the
keel, made up a kit of collapsing steel stanchions. He showed up in California and the yard lowered the
boat over the trailer with their crane, he adjusted his stanchion kits, strapped
the whole affair down and off he went to Arizona. When we got home he made the permanent welds. Was a very slick
way to go. He has probably converted 20 trailers and knows what he is doing. Out
here in the middle of the desert a lot of us are trailer sailors and the yard
deals with trailers all the time. I now have a rig I can use to take the boat
back to California if I want to put it over there for a couple months.

Mike,
If you need some measurements, I have a F25 #12 on the trailer just a few
blocks away…I sold her to & work with the present owner and I’m sure
he would be glad to help me take some measurments…

I have pictures of the trailer that I just sold. If you want I can
send you pic’s of the trailer so you could be guided.
