Have any of you added fuel capacity to your F36 or F38? If so how did
you do it? Where did you put the tank and what is its capacity? How
is it connected (how does it work) with the original tank? Thanks,

I have a spare tank in Ketch 22, an F39. It is an 18 gallon aluminum tank,
glassed to the hull under the mattress in the V berth. It is plumbed with an
electric fuel pump that allows me to move fuel from the spare tank to one of the
existing 35 gallon tanks in the main salon. Works great.

At one time, I considered installing a day tank in conjunction with
a fuel polishing system. The location was the port sail locker,
either behind the engine box adjacent to the dividing bulkhead,
above the muffler, or adjacent to the engine box, under the garbage
port. Considering that 1 cu.ft will give you 7.5 gals., you can fit
a lot of fuel in a small space. I had planned on using an electric
lift pump and filter combination from the main tank to the day tank.
The day tank would feed by gravity to the engine fuel pump and
there would be an additional over flow hose back the main tank, teed
into the diesel return line fitting.
