My 92 F45 CC has two heads and two 12 gallon holding tanks (yes, they are s-m-a-l-l, about 12 flushes each).
I am looking at ways to upgrade to larger tanks. Has anyone found the space to do it?
I don’t want collapsible (no ventilation = big time stink), and so am looking at polyethylene marine tanks from Ronco Plastics in sunny CA.
They have two or three stock tanks of various suitable shapes which might fit to port or starboard under the forward bunk. By pushing the tank through the forward bulkhead I may be able to put a 25 gallon up there, maybe another on the port side.
The real problem is upgrading the aft holding tank, tucked between the hull and the shower module.
Any suggestions?

Thanks for the heads up. I have worked with Paul Dennis (2002, rudder rebuild) and will call him.
Where are your tanks located?

ONe more Q if you don’t mind: What size are they?

that’s what I have. Can’t get too far away from a pump-out station, and I can’t dump the tanks in legal areas - no pump.
Oh well. Thanks again.

The later 45s had a larger tank forward. Paul Dennis is familiar with it.
We may add a macerator (outside 3 mile limit) to our forward tank.

Behind the head in the aft cabin and under the starboard berth forward.

We just purchased a 1988 F45, hull no. 2. The previous owner
upgraded both heads, and added 30 gallon holding tanks to both. The
forward tank is below the birth just aft of the chain locker
bulkhead. The aft tank is outboard of the shower.
Paul Dennis did the upgrade on this boat as well.
Good luck,
DG

Thanks. Must have been some job to get a 30 gllon tank (or any tank) outboard of the aft shower!

Fatherhood on your mind???!!
And then there’s forward berth and “after-berth”.

It definitely is a tight installation, but it is in there. By the
way, obviously I mispelled “berth” in my last post when I
wrote “birth.” Talk about feeling like a piker!
