Today I brought my F21 (ying-yang) out. It was an exhilarting
experience. Thanks to all in this forum I was properly educated in
sailing.
I do have one question for the forum. How does one take care of the
lazy jacks? It seems that you want them loose when sailing and tight
when dropping the sails?
I had forgotten to tighten the lazy jacks and when I dropped the main
the boom could not be supported and the lazy jacks came apart.

Seve, I just got back from Dallas and I saw your e-mail.The lazy jacks are one continuous line and they should be long enough to allow your sail to fill with wind and not restrict battens.They should be tight enough that the boom doesn’t rest on the traveler when you release the main halyard .I adjust mine so I can just take up all the slack in the mainsheet when the sail is down.When you winch your mainsail up make sure you have lot’s of slack in your mainsheet and that all your reef lines are released.
