Hi,
Does anyone out there have the critical dimensions for the
removable table in a Freedom 25?
I’m looking to buy a local F25 that had the table removed and
never returned. The four numbers I think I need are the length and
width of the table top, the length of the leg and the distance from
the back edge (where the hinge-like supports are) to the hinge for the
leg.
Also, knowing the part number for the hinge-like supports would
be great.
Any help would be appreciated.

John,
This is not a sexy table, and the dimensions can vary quite
a bit. However, if the “hinge-like supports” are missing from the
rear of the cockpit (inside transom) and the underside of the bridge
deck, you are free to improvise on all the details except you must be
cognizant of the slot in the cabin sole that accommodates the single
leg that this table has. If you really need these dimensions I can
supply them to you with a bit of effort, in a few days. Herm

The table on my F-25 is one the P?O made up. It is 42" long and 24"
wide. The end that fasten to the bottom of top step in the cabin
is 26 1/2" high from the sole.
The end away from the steps is rounded with a 12" radius and the
oppisite corners are rounded with about a 3" radius each corner.
The fastening hardware is mounded on the underside of the top step
and corespondingly on the transom for use in the cockpit. There is
a folding leg that supports the table. (26 1/2" long.) I can’t find
the mounting hardware in WM catalog. I imagine that you could use
Slip hinges to hold the table. If you like I can take pictures of
the table next week.

Thanks Harv, your description is great. I think I found the hatch
hinge used for the table mount at
http://store.marinepartdepot.com/new316ststhe.html .
Just two more questions:
Is the mount screwed directly to the bottom table (a horizontal
surface) or to the side a block attached to the bottom of the table
(a vertical surface)?
Where do you stow the table when you’re out sailing?
Thanks

John;
That’s the same hinge that I have. It’s fastened on the under side of
the table and the step. I’ll take some pic’s and put it in the files
section.

John,
Here are the “official” dimensions of said table:
34-1/2" long, 21-1/2" wide, 3/4" thick. The leg is
also hinged, and is 37-1/2" long and the lower few inches taper down
to 2-5/8" to fit the slot at the rear of the removable bilge trap
door. This leg has a 3/4’ x 3/4" block at the top (facing toward the
companionway) and that, in turn, has the hinge fastened to it thereby
offsetting the leg away from the bottom of the table (the logic of
this is to prevent the leg from hinging too far toward the bow).
Unlike what I said in my previous note, the table “hinges” are
attached to the underside of the topmost companionway step. I
believe that any substantial loose-pin hinge can be used for this
purpose. I would drill the head of the hinge pin to take a circular
cotter ring that’s used on many places on boats. This would make it
easier to withdraw when that’s
desired/needed. Herm
