One final question for owners (and ex-owners) of the wing mast version
of the Freedom 25.
Currently my reef-lines lead from a block at the tack to a deck-mounted
block by the mast then through a eye and under the travler back to the
rope clutches at the rear of the cabin house. I’ve found that when I’ve
cranked down the reef, the mast can’t roatate due to the load on the
reef line between the tack the deck.
My halyard on the other hand has second rope-clutch mounted on the mast
(so the halyard between the two rope clutches can be slack enough for
easy mast rotation)
Has anyone mounted cam-cleats or rope-clutches on the mast for the reef-
lines? If so where and how did you mount them?
Thanks
