I should have added that in our case a holding tank is
the only legal option. Great Lakes.

If I may weigh in with our plan to solve the holding
tank problem for our
F32, we’ve decided to scrap the tank and get a
Lectra-San(sp?) instead. The
reasoning being that the current 12-gallon tank is
not sufficient for living
onboard on a mooring/anchor. A larger tank, if we
could even find a place
to put it, would still have to be pumped out
frequently or require a trip
into waters where dumping is allowed regardless of
conditions. While the
Lectra-San takes about 4-5 amp hours a flush, we
feel the tradeoff against
the maintenance of the waste tank makes it
worthwhile.
If there are any among you who have a differing
opinion, please chime in.
We learned a long time ago about the infallibility
of our decision process
and experience trumps conjecture every time.

holding tank
A couple of years ago my 25 gallon Al holding tank
in
my F32 developed leaks and I had to replace it.
Basically I studied every online tank catalog
before
settling on an Ocean Link, Inc. 25 gallon portside
tank which I had to glass in supporting 2X4’s in
order
to install it. My situation may be a bit unique as
the
forward cabin has a single port side berth. The
essential part of the operation is making careful
measurements and study all available tank
catalogs. By
the way I replaced Al by plastic.

Ardemco is also another source for tanks.
Speaking
of Ronco, if you’re in a location where you can
pay
cash and pick-up yourself, they will give a deep
discount. Talk to the manager…P
